The Act requires that every registration have specified conditions included.
The SWRB SA may apply additional conditions to a category of registration and/or individual registrations.
Conditions are applied to ensure registrants meet or exceed the quality practice framework and to maintain public safety.

Continuing professional development (CPD):
All registrants must complete the prescribed hours of CPD.
Supervision requirements:
All registrants must complete the prescribed hours of supervision with an experienced and registered social worker.
Completion of courses or experience:
The SWRB SA may require a registrant to complete specific courses or acquire certain experiences as a condition of their registration.
Service restrictions:
The SWRB SA may impose conditions that restrict the services a registrant may provide.
Period of registration:
The SWRB SA may limit the period for which a registration remains in force.
Provision of further evidence:
The SWRB SA may require a social worker to provide further evidence of their competence.
Audit and compliance:
The SWRB SA may audit a registrant at any time to ensure compliance with the conditions of registration.
Notification of charges or convictions:
If a registrant is charged with or convicted of an offence involving dishonesty, violence, or any offence punishable by imprisonment for 3 months or more, they must notify the SWRB SA in writing within 14 days.
Notification of employment changes:
If a registrant is dismissed or resigns from employment due to allegations of unprofessional conduct, or in response to improper conduct relating to a child, they must notify the SWRB SA in writing within 14 days.
Contravention of conditions:
A registrant who contravenes or fails to comply with a condition imposed on their registration is guilty of an offence and may be fined up to $10,000.
Failure to notify the board:
A registrant who fails to notify the Board of charges, convictions, or employment changes as required may be fined up to $5,000.
False or misleading statements:
Making a false or misleading statement in any information kept or provided under the Act is an offence punishable by a fine of up to $5,000.
Use of title:
Knowingly or recklessly using the title "social worker" in a way that could reasonably be expected to induce a belief that the person is a registered social worker, when they are not, is an offence punishable by a fine of up to $60,000 or imprisonment for up to three years, or both.
Holding out:
A person must not represent themselves or another person as a social worker or misrepresent a category of registration or conditions placed on a registration. Maximum penalty: $10, 000.
